Paperless Maps

If I didn’t have Google Maps, I would likely not have survived the move to Los Angeles.

Okay, that’s not true, but it has significantly increased my rate of integration to any new destination I frequent.

Now I’m trying to go paperless—not an easy task for a designer—and part of my efforts involve getting rid of the paper that I use for Google Map printouts.

I have a 3G iPhone, so I can easily find where I need to be, using the Google Map software that is bundle with the GPS, allowing me to keep track even more efficiently (and paper-free) than before.

But it’s hard to break the paper habit. “The chains of habit are too small to be seen until they’re too small to be broken.” I’ll clean up the floor of my car eventually. But when I do, I’ll miss the Google Map printouts’ comforting presence.
